For Pool Pumps, hot tub pumps or swim spa pumps, you can rely on Dependable Pool and Spa Service to expertly repair, rebuild, or replace your equipment.
Pool and spa pumps that need repair can usually be rebuilt at considerable savings over replacement with new. A pool, spa or hot tub pump is comprised of two sections: the motor section and the pump section itself (commonly called the ‘wet end’). Pictured below is a typical spa pump with both wet end and motor bolted together, and a wet end, separated from the motor. The wet end is connected to the water pipes and creates flow when the impeller inside is spun by the motor.
Pump motors that are rebuilt correctly will have new bearings and ‘end bell’ replacement if needed. The motor windings will be tested and re-coated. The start system will be adjusted and tested, replacing worn parts as required.
The wet end will have a new shaft seal (and impeller if needed).
This re-build process is so successful that we provide the same warranty for rebuilds as we do for a new pump. The most common rebuilt pumps are carried on our service van and can be exchanged in one convenient appointment. When new replacement is required, often just the motor or ‘wet end’ can be changed instead of the complete unit.
